Manjaro has many mirrors across the globe, but usually only those mirrors locate in the same country of the user is fast enough. Take me for example, I live in China. Every time after I installed Manjaro, the first thing I do is: sudo pacman-mirrors --interactive , and pick mirrors locate in China, otherwise pacman becomes so slow it's unusable in most of the time.

My suggestion is adding a new page in the installer with the following options:

Manjaro Software Repository Mirrors
[ ] Use default mirrors
[ ] Detect and choose the fastest mirrors for me
[ ] Let me choose from the following region:
-- COUNTRY LIST --

This will save new users a lot of trouble.
