With
manjaro-application-utilityinstalled, Hello coredumps on GNOME (unstable branch). Runningmanjaro-application-utilitymanually launches the application.Something to do with this?
Of course the file(s) exist:
Without
manjaro-application-utilityinstalled:changed the description
assigned to @fhdk
I will take a look at it...
First step - fetch a minimal iso and install into VM (application utility does not show in live mode)
Running manjaro-hello from console to get output
It states Info: Gnome-layout-switcher not installed but that is a plugin as application-utility is.
Installing the layout switcher on the minimal edition succeeds but upon changing layout
Yet no segfault when loading application utility - neither before nor after installing the layout switcher.
EDIT
A deprecation warning
It appears that application utility is setting the header title using a removed property - must be related to changes in the GTK toolkit.

@fhdk This is still happening from the latest commit. Have you had a chance to take a look?
I am working on it
I have created gnome-layout-switcher in applications - I think it is better we consolidate the apps there instead of building from a member's repo.
@yochananmarqos1 🤔 I am confused.
To avoid cluttering my workstation (Plasma) I decided to create a VM with Gnome.
I fetched the latest dev iso
After spinning up a VM (installed) manjaro-hello works without crashing
I can't reproduce the issue today on two machines.🤷0.7.2-10 does not crash, however from the latest commit (which would be 0.7.3-1 now) does on one machine, but not another.
On the machine that it was crashing on, I removed
manjaro-application-utilityand receive a completely different error::face_palm:
I don't know when - but I can see that the desktop tour object as gone AWOL.
I have readded - by editing the manjar-hello.glade file manually.
I don't have permission to fork, so please merge.
@phoepsilonix You should have permission now. I sent you a forum PM recently regarding that.
@yochananmarqos1
Thanks, I just noticed the PM, I did check the permissions on the packages group, but it looks like I can't fork it because I don't have permissions on the applications. Am I operating incorrectly?
“Limit reachedYou can't create projects in personal namespaces. Contact a GitLab admin.”
@phoepsilonix Whoops, sorry. You have access in Packages, not Applications.
Have you requested access? I'm new to all this and forgot where I even saw it.
@yochananmarqos1
Sorry, I just requested that. Sorry for the inconvenience.
@phoepsilonix I figured it out. I only have permission to approve requests for Packages, not Applications. I'll ping the appropriate parties.
As far as the diff, I'll wait for @fhdk to review it.
@yochananmarqos1
Thank you. Best regards.
I see.
@philm Hello.
Thank you for adding me to the applications group.
I may be operating incorrectly, but it still seems impossible to fork. I get errors like “Limit reached name space”.
I am new to gitlab, so any advice would be appreciated.

I checked the permissions with help and understood that I can create a PR without forking.
Additional explanation.
This is a reference to the process added when starting the applicaiton-utility by itself. Since there was no problem with the stand-alone startup, I focused on that.

@yochananmarqos1
I was checking the permissions of the members of the group. I created the PROJECTS in a test easily and realized that I do not have the permission to delete it. I apologize for the inconvenience, but could you please delete them?

Once closed.
It just happened to look like it was working well.
Next time, I will take the time to check it out again.
Sorry for the trouble.
I have updated the merge request !152. Please review it at your convenience.
While there are still some causes of SEGV remaining, it appears that these require modifications on the application-utility side.
With my current fixes, I believe the frequency of SEGV occurrences has significantly decreased.
